I am now completely fed up with my 300 KB/s internet connection and my county have now told me I am part of the 1 % of the country that will not be getting fiber internet. So I am thinking if I am willing to pay for another bad internet connection to my house can I double my internet?

How would I set this up? Would I need two modems connecting to one load balancing router in order to combine them or will I have to use both connections separately?

First of all you would have to have a second pair of phone lines running to your house. Many houses have this but not all. Secondly the way you are talking about won't work. 2 connections using 2 modems means 2 external ip addresses and you have no way to tell the site you are downloading from to devide the data and send it to both ip addresses. So what you need in that case is a provider that supports pair bonding. With the line bonded at the provider side, you only need 1 modem.

So the question for you is do you have 2 lines and does your provider support pair bonding?
