I admit this is my 1st build:
I have a problem with a ASUS Z97-PRO (Wi-Fi AC). Failure to post. On power only fans on top or board (fan & opt fan) run (after a minute they also slow a bit), 200mm fan lights up but wont spin, no beep, no video on any ether VGA onboard or card ports, LED won't pass 00.

I ordered 2 ASUS Z97-PRO (Wi-Fi AC)'s with the same issue. I stripped both boards down to CPU (stock i& heatsink/fan), RAM, PSU with same result.
Is it likely I have 2 DOA mobo's or is it the CPU? :(

I would really appreciate some feedback, please :)

Solution
You must have these two connected:
24-pin EATX Power connector
8-pin ATX 12V Power connector (to the left of the top heatsink that is above the CPU) This delivers power to CPU. If it isn't connected then the CPU isn't getting any power.

I am using the 24pin connector to the mobo. The manual only says to connect that one. There are no other power connectors as far as I can see or read in the manual. I double checked and couldn't find anything else to connect power to.

As a 1st time builder. Can you give me an idea how to do this. I see the BIOS FLASHBACK button on the motherboard. Do I simply download this to a USB (FAT) drive, from the ASUS website. I've never done this before. Appreciate your help!

OL, so I downloaded the latest BIOS. Unzipped it, renames it Z97P.CAP
I copy this to a USB drive and put it in back USB port for FLASH BIOS.
Hold down the FLASH BIOS button and power on the PSU.

How do I know when its done and safe to power off and on again?

Sir, you've made me feel like an idiot! The answer was too obvious I missed it! I didn't plug in the 8-pin ATX 12V Power connector (to the left of the top heatsink that is above the CPU). My bad. Like I said... This is my first build. A very well learned lesson indeed.
