Will my CPU bottleneck my monitor? (If that is even possible?)

So, I have been considering upgrading to a 1440p monitor, from my current 1080p.

I got a i5 2500k and a 980. (Neither of them OC)

I know my GPU can handle 1440p decently, but would my CPU bottleneck the monitor? Is it even possible for it to do so? I know very little to non on the topic.

In advance, thanks a lot!

Thanks, I appreciate the fast answers! Sorry for asking, but is there is no technical thing that could bottleneck it, or make it run bad on the monitor? And if there is, will overclocking solve it? I do have a Noctua NH-D14, which I think is sufficient in case I need OC my CPU.

Okay, sorry for asking again, but this just to make sure I understood it right. 1080p vs 1440p have similar performance requirements on the CPU when used (And in gaming) due to 1440p only really require a better GPU?

Didn't see the answer already had arrived for my last question! Thanks a lot everybody, I really appriciate the fast answers! I would like to give you all a "Pick as solution" but no possible! You all have my gratitude!
