Just built my new PC with Windows 8.1 and it won't connect to my wired network. I have the Ethernet cable plugged in, but it says no connections are available. It's not the router because I just tested it and it works fine with my other PC plus all our gaming consoles.

What's going on? What should I try to fix it? I'm out of ideas.

Thanks in advance for any and all help

Solution
Look for the file that is titled "Setup" and should have ".exe" at the end of it.

Can also get drivers from the manufacturer's website (may need to use another computer with internet access and use a USB drive to bring them over).

@digitaldoc: I hadn't even considered that drivers needed to be installed for the Ethernet port. Thanks for the suggestion, and my next question is how do I install the drivers? I put the driver CD that came with my MSI Gaming 5 mobo into the optical drive, but can't figure out where to go from there as my PC doesn't run any installer automatically from the CD. What do I do?

Sorry for the dumb questions. :/
