So here's the thing, I'm running on a low-end system right now, matter of fact I'm bottle-necking hard. I have:

Intel Core 2 Duo (Dual Core) 6400 @ 2.1 Ghz
1Gb Memory of DDr2 RAM
AMD Radeon 7850 XFX Dual Fan Eddition with 2Gb RAM

I know this is a bad bottle neck, I just bought some RAM and a FX-4350 (Planning to OC)along with a board , but here's my problem, I copied all of the settings I had and did a test to see what gets more frames, Windows 7 or Mint 17 C. As far as I know Mint doesn't use as much resouces and is light weight right? I get a mere 20 FPS less then I did...... Any thoughts why?

Things I have done:
Got recent drivers for my card,
Shut all other programs off/ idle'd them.

Should I just stick to Windows? Please no biased OS wars, just looking for a answer. Thanks in advance. :)

Thank you for the relpy, so here's my big debate, I mean it wouldn't bother me so much if I wasn't with bad hardware and could tell the difference, so should I just swtcih back to Windows and call it quits? Or is their a way around this? I really do enjoy Linux and I LOVE the Mint 17 (I dual boot) If there IS a work-a-round could you please explain this work around and how to implement it.

Thanks in advance and for the quick reply,

Java : I have Java 8 Runtime and Open JDK Java 7, I nomrally use Java 7 as it gives me a extra 5 frames.
Kernal: Linux Mint 3.13.0-37-generic

I have tried all of them, each not making a diff. I currently use the default.
