So damn frustrating. So i just bought a new GPU , a Nvidia Geforce GT 610 , and i have had trouble since the start. Over the past couple of days i have been working on installing the drivers, which i was finally able to do after so long, only to find out that the GPU still doesnt give a signal, only my integrated graphics does. Any ideas what might be causing this? i have tries disabling the Microsoft Basic Adapter, cleaning out any remnant drivers but the effing problems still remains. will post specs if needed.

Lol vague information to get you paying for more support, wouldn't be surprised.

Ok np, let us know if you get it going.

Another thing, did you have trouble installing the gpu drivers? Try downloading newest drivers from http://www.geforce.com/drivers - Geforce\600 series\

If the installer doesn't detect the gpu it wont install. If it does then the gpu is being recognized.

Might need to disable the on board graphics in the Bios or make the graphics card the default display device.

And make sure the video cable is connected to the GT610 and not still connected to the on board graphics video slot.

it would be awesome if i could do that, but the Acer BIOS suck so hard , and basically any video settings are not available. through device manager, i disabled the onboard yet as of right now im using it. When i connect my HDMI to the GPU , i dont get a signal at all

haha yea. I found the user's guide but is not very informative beyond general use, security and viruses. It does mention 'Detailed information on such and such and expansion options' but nothing about installing a graphics card.

http://www.manualdevice.com/acer/aspire-xc-115-user-manual - I would have linked the manual straight from Acer but need to redo the search again, this link was easier.

Alexander, Acer would have put documents on your computer, maybe something in there will be more helpful. Also might pay to contact Acer support, see what they reckon.

By what ive heard Acer support charges a insane amount of money for support so I can forget about that , but i will look into the manual and in my computer and see if i can get it working, thank you for your help! :)
