Overclocking i7 4770k, please help me

First of all i wanna say that my CPU has been running at turbo speed since i enabled XMP.
The problem is that it runs at 3.9Ghz at 1.188v and it increases to 1.25v+ in Prime95
while others run it at 4.3~4.5Ghz at 1.2v and the voltage never increases like mine.

Everything in the BIOS is set to auto.
I get high temp (90+) while running prime95 and the voltage increases to 1.25v automatically.
I know that CPUs are not the same but i guess you may understand mine after this information.
I wanna know the voltage i should set for 4Ghz, 4.2Ghz, 4.3Ghz, 4.4Ghz, and 4.5Ghz (a lot ? :P)

My build:
Motherboard : Gigabyte G1.Sniper Z87
CPU : Intel Core i7-4770K (CM Hyber 212 Evo)
RAM : G.skill RipjawsX 16GB (2 X 8GB) DDR3 2133Mhz CL9 1.6v
GPU : Gigabyte GTX 780 Ti Windforce 3x OC
HDD : Western Digital 1TB Black
OS : Windows 8.1 Pro

  1. Yesterday i managed to run it at 4Ghz at 1.2v and it was stable for 40min blend test in prime95 but temp reaches 88c sometimes.
I also wanna know why does enabling XMP increases the CPU voltage and makes it run at turbo speed all the time.

Read this: Intel Temperature Guide -

    Run this: Prime95 version 26.6 Small FFT's -

Your Core temperatures will test 10 to 20C cooler than Prime95 version 28.5.

    Please post your ambient temperature.

  3. Firstly only use Prime95 version 26.6. The others are too hard on CPUs (and ram).

Did you follow a guide? eg,9.html

And there is variation in OC results from CPU to CPU.

What CPU cooler are you using?

    What PSU make and model?
  4. CPU cooler is Cooler Master Hyber 212 Evo
PSU is EVGA SuperNOVA 850 G2 Gold PSU
Going to try Prime95 version 26.6

    Thanks for your reply
  5. After running Prime95 version 26.6 for 30min at 4Ghz at 1.2v the temp never went above 70c.
    Should i leave everything ?
