I got a new laptop- Dell Inspiron 15R 5537. I got it with Windows 8.1 and was planning to install Ubuntu 14.04 LTS on it alongside Windows 8.1 without turning off the UEFI BIOS.

Is this possible or should I change the BIOS to legacy mode to install?

Solution
Ubunu has support for UEFI since version 12.10 so you can install along side windows. Turn off secure boot if you want to.

If you enable legacy mode your windows install will not boot!

On my laptop the video card has a bug that for suspend to work requires legacy bios mode.
