transferring ram from old computer to new computer

I am building a gaming pc and I needed ram. My old computer has 16GB of ram and I dnot really want to waste it so I plan on using it on my new computer. However, will ananything affect the speed or performance of the new pc if I use my old ram?

Is both your old and new pc are ddr3? And if they are what is the bus speed of your ram? (800mhz/1333mhz/1600mhz) if your new pc's motherboard supports the frequency of your old ram then it shouldn't be a problem
