I have been planning to open a new office and I wanted to be edgy and try Wireless router to connect 20 devices. I have spoken with Netgear support they said that they have devices that would support 32 connections. I just dont want the transfer speed to be effected between the connections if I need to transfer files on the shared drive. The files would be aprox 300 MB big . Any advices or shortcoming anyone experienced

You would need to upgrade the adapters on all your machines to use AC, and it still would be much slower than Ethernet cables, and it sounds like your setup would be easy with Ethernet with the wireless just for the cell phones.

Wireless has not really progressed nearly as much as the manufactures would like you to think.
In a word, don't. While it is theoretically possible, the speeds will not be great, and the stability will be worse. Beyond 10-12 devices, and these routers are not good. Oh, and this is before trying to transfer large files between devices.

Think about the potential business loss for downtime and maintenance. You will be much better off with dedicated cable to each of the devices, and a switch. The wifi should be used as a backup, and for those devices that cannot be plugged in such as smartphones.

Sorry I didnt mention more details, I would be connecting 20 devices true but not more than 4-5 devices would be uploading and downloading files in the network, The file sizes would be around 300 mb, I plan to shift the office in 3 years or so . Looking cost wise and work wise (since I'll have to install panels again for the ethernet cable) Felt wireless was a better option since no wires I do agree speeds would be slow and Is a condition I'm willing to bear . I felt maybe the Wifi Tech has evolved and was now a more viable option . The office wouldn't be larger at most it would the size of a large garage 20 P.Cs lined up near by . I will have one Server P.C to act has major Backup/storage device (share the Drive) . I spoke to many tech staff now all admit that 20 devices would be easily supportable in the way the office has been setup .

But if wireless isnt an option sadly I would sadly would have think about wired networks
Device I was suggested NETGEAR AC750 Dual Band Wi-Fi Gigabit Router (again I dont wanna use home oriented wifi routers , I want to you office Small/Medium routers)
