I have a
ASUS A88X-Pro mobo, with an AMD A10 7850K APU and 16bg DDR3 1866 RAM. I have been using dual graphics with a Radeon R7 250 gpu, and I'm not impressed. I want to throw out the dual graphics and go for a higher end gpu. I'm looking to buy a EVGA GeForce GTX 970 Superclocked ACX 2.0, (Website http://www.evga.com/Products/Product.aspx?pn=04G-P4-2974-KR) so I can have a more powerful gpu. My question is will this setup cause huge bottlenecking? Is it worth buying this card, or should I buy a cheaper card. I want to get the most out of my system. Any suggestions would be great.

Solution
AMD Mantle games will do a lot better with your APU (CPU bottleneck is reduced with Mantle) so a 290x/290/280x would be fine, where ever the deal is. All would be MUCH faster than your 250s.

It's an ok match, a faster processor would get you more min/avg fps, a card in the 770/960/280x would be have less bottlenecks but also less overall GPU horsepower. Consider a 290x if you play any games that support Mantle.

Is a new CPU upgrade within a year? If so it's be ok to get a faster GPU now but if not you'd be better suited with the next tier down.

Well to be honest I wont be able to upgrade my cpu and buy a new mobo for a while, probably few years. So the R9 290X would be better?

I'm looking to do triple monitor gaming with better results than dual graphics offers. I'm not looking to triple monitor High GPU demanding games. I want the best for my current setup.
