Put this build together back in September, Expected some prices to drop right now. and I was unable to take advantage of Black Friday/Cyber Monday.

Curious of any advice or changes anyone may make to make the build better and get more for the money or make $300 worth of room to fit a Astro A50 Headset.

Note: this build is from scratch, No peripheals of any sort

This is build will be used for Harcore gaming, Streaming, and You tube gaming videos.

If u make any changes, including a description of why would be apperciated.

Yeah I've even tried playing Civ V and a couple of other games on one monitor and running iTunes and Firefox on another, and it usually freezes or crashes when I try to alt-tab. I eventually...

Get this. Omg, get this. (Optical drive also has blue ray, why not for a 3k build lol)

Almost any PC gamer would die for this build lol
What is there to say? One of the best CPU's on the market for your needs, (if not, the best). Two of the most POWERFUL graphics cards in the world right now, a beautiful case displaying all the sexiness. Corsair based, a Godly ROG motherboard. The color scheme is very nice. A Monster power supply, a Tb SSD, ultimate speed. a WD black, godly for gaming. Like. I can't stress enough how monstrous this build is. You don't need 1k watts, but i changed the 850 watt one to this, it's cheaper, gold efficient, and has 1k

Lmao, better then two 980's? He doesn't need a better CPU. That build is perfect, especially for what he wants. and it looks nice as hell. What? You want more FPS, from that godly cpu and those two gpu's ? He'd have to overclock his monitor ove 60 hertz to even see more then 60 frames on his monitor lmao. Chill. the build's fine.

What do you mean, latest components? 850 evo vs 840 evo?

Instead of just criticizing a someone else's suggestion, it would help to provide your version of the best $3000 build.

Oh, so you tweaked mine. Yeah that one will do better. Put in the 1k watt on my updated one. It's cheaper, also. And gold.

Also, i was trying to stay UNDER 3k. It's above 3k, and those discounts wont stay there for long. Just saying. :) My goal was try to keep it under no matter what. He's gonna have to spend an extra $170 for performance he wont even see, unless he's running aloooooot more programs. And i mean a lot.
I guess it's a bit more futureproof. He'll have to overclock that because the core clock on that i7-5820k isn't too impressive. But oh well.

I didn't say anything about the GPU's. I am talking about the CPU and motherboard.
At the price of 3000$ he can buy a motherboard with 2011-3 socket instead of a mobo with 1150 socket.

Whatever, he will make his own choice. He is having 2 amazing builds at the moment and he will have to decide which one ;)

I thank you all for suggestions. I late getting back to this. But there is one huge problem. I upgrading from nothing. There are No Monitors in your builds, No Periphals as well :/ Which is why my build looks more like this

I would love dual 980's but due to needing monitors and such, it really isnt an option without sacrificing greatyly in other areas.

My current issues and doubt lie within my Monitor selection, and I am unsure of which Headset I should get (I really have my eyes set on Astro A50, but they take me over budget) or should I just go with Yeti Mic and Sennheiser headphone combo. (Althought for some reason I find Headset more ideal)

Reason I doubt monitors is because main feature of these Monitors is 144hz, and G SYNC (Cause ur monitors can tend to tear at 144hz) But I wont be paying the extra $200 for G-SYNC Module, that ridiculous to me, I would rather save and get a ROG Swift in that case and just sell these monitor later. when ROG becomes a more reasonable price

Seriously you have $3,000 to spend on a build. No need to pair it with some $10 tin can speakers. That kind of makes the whole thing look cheap. Most of that build looks pretty good, but for gaming two monitors won't cut it, you want one or three. I'd also lose the mouse mat - those things are pretty much a waste of money.

I put $10 speakers cause staying in the $3000 budget is very key. and speakers are the least important thing for me, As I will mostly be using Headset or Headphones be it Astro A50's or Sennheiser HD518

And is there another Mous pade, similar price u could suggest?

Why wont two monitors cut it? can u elaborate? I see many people using DUAL monitors. Especially Streamers which is what I will be mostly doing with this PC

1. You might as well use the speakers that are built into your monitor at at that point until you can afford something better. There's just no point in buying speakers that cheap.

2. I just don't recommend buying them period, you needed them in the days of the track ball mice, but with laser mice, they're really just a waste of money.

3. Because when you are playing first and third person games, the picture gets split right down the middle. And running a game on one in a window and using the other for apps doesn't really work, I've tried it and it really slows down your PC in the long run.

I completely agree with #1. However, using a mouse pad totally changes how a laser mouse tracks and slides/glides across your desk. A mouse pad gives the correct amount of friction imo. Also, I feel that it is completely fine to use dual monitors - I do it. If you're using a $3k pc, having a game run on your main monitor (windowed or full screen) and alt-tabbing to your side monitor isn't going to be slow.

I've done alt tabbing before, and there's slow vs. practical. I should have said that this is not practical by any means. If you're a hardcore multi tasker and can pull it off, more power to you.

Haha yea, I agree with that part. It really depends on what you're doing really. Alt-tabbing in something like GW2 is really easy because of the windowed full-screen mode (there is no performance difference between it and full screen for me). It's also useful in League of Legends. But in a AAA game like BF or CoD, its not quite as practical.

Yeah I've even tried playing Civ V and a couple of other games on one monitor and running iTunes and Firefox on another, and it usually freezes or crashes when I try to alt-tab. I eventually gave up and went back to a single monitor configuration.

Oh, Civ5 is horrible for dual screens. I'm kind of getting off topic here...but maybe this'll come in handy for anyone else who reads this. You cannot alt-tab for that game. Everything that isn't your game needs to be on your side monitor, with just Civ5 running on your main. Set Civ5 to Also make sure that pressing ctl+alt+del puts the task manager on your side monitor. Once your game is loaded (playing the game, not in the menu), press ctl+alt+del. For some reason opening the task manager this way helps a lot. Then you should be able to freely click from screen to screen without causing that much lag or any crashes. This is using full screen mode btw. As long as programs open on your side monitor by default, there shouldn't be an issue.
