I want to build for myself another PC configuration, which includes the following components:

Intel Xeon X5650 @ 2.66GHz Processor
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560Ti DirectCUII 2GB GPU (my current GPU)
16GB DDR3 RAM @ 1333MHz (my current amount of RAM)
1366 Socket Motherboard
Sirtec HighPower Plus 500W SLi Ready PSU (my current PSU)

I am rendering/editing video scenes with high-end post-processing software (Premiere Pro/After Effects/3D Studio Max etc.) and I really need the Xeon processor because it is very powerful, and with a little bit of tweaking, I can maximize its performance to a whole new level.

I need to know if I can keep my 16GB of RAM so I can mount it on my "old-new" motherboard, or I will need to sell it and buy an NON-ECC one. Thank you in advance !

I am looking for an ASUS Rampage III Gene or an Alienware X58 Motherboard. :D
