Hello everyone,

I'm looking to upgrade my computer and get a new graphics card, my current specs are:

i5-4670k, quad core at 3.4ghz (Water cooled)
12GB Vengeance DDR3 ram 1600mhz
MSI Z87 g45 motherboard
650W XFX PSU
Radeon Sapphire HD 7870 (2GB)
120gb SSD
1 TB hard drive

So I can play BF4 on ultra no problems, but can't get ultra settings on Farcry 4 or Metro Last light, so I'm going to buy a new graphics card.

My budget is around £250, and I was looking at the R9 290x as it has mantle,or the gtx 970 however I want value to performance, as no point getting a beast graphics card that's bottle necked by the rest of my PC or cant run on my PSU.

So should I aim for something lower like at R9 270 or maybe a Nvidia 780, or maybe get a second 7870 and cross fire?

I'm looking for pure gaming performance, not to bothered about the noise or temperature.

Thanks in advanced.

Thanks for the quick replies guys.

Yes I'm running at 1080p, 1920x1200 resolution.

Okay could you provide some reasoning, is it going to give me the best gaming performance out of all the current cards, and won't be bottle necked by my other components?
