I have a Lenovo TS140 thinkserver with a 480gb pny ssd: PNY Optima Solid State Drive - 480GB SSD - 2.5", SATA III, 6Gbps, Write 43,000 IOPS, Read 60,000 IOPS - SSD7SC480GOPT-RB
I am not sure when this happened, but recently my SSD write speed got extremely slow. When I copy a large file from an external hard drive, the copy speed is around 140 MB/s at first, and then suddenly drops down to around 3MB/s.
I searched but wasn't able to find any firmware update. I thought that it might be a hardware problem at first, but since the speed is fast in a copy operation at first, it may not be the case.
CrystalDiskMark shows >400MB/s read speed and 2-3MB/s write speed for 50mb sequential.
This does happen when installing windows as well (really slow). So I don't think it is related to the OS configuration.
