Hi guyz.
i have build a pc with geforce gtx 760 graphic card. As i own samsung series 6 F6100 3d led tv so i wanted to enjoy some 3d movies. Now my question is: what would be the advantages or drawbacks if i buy another blu ray plauer or my pc will be enough?

Solution
The gtx760 will be more than enough for 3d blu-ray movies, if you have i3, even the C2D.
Advantage, you can watch the 3d blu-ray movies. Disadvantages, you will spend more $$, because you need the 3d blu-ray play software like powerDVD, which is more expensive than the blu-ray player, also 3d blu-ray movies are expensive too.
Please note not all the blu-ray play software can play 3d blu-ray movies.

False to the other post related to the work being done by the CPU. The nVidia Geforce GTX 760 has built in support to decode bluray video streams. With that being said it also requires bluray software with the actual ability to use it. The display also has to be HDCP compliant and the bluray software able to handle the combination of your video card and monitor.

I recommend avoiding Cyberlink PowerDVD because it has terrible bluray support and is buggy about properly detecting HDCP compliant video driver and displays. I have tried PowerDVD 14 Ultra with my GTX 760 and it didn't work. I am not the only one to have issues with that either.. Many have had better luck with Corel WinDVD which seems to be lighter overall and works hand and hand better with GPU decode.

I would go with the PC and avoid buying a bluray player. You will be able to do allot more with your PC and if you run dual monitors you can flip between using it for movies and using it for other things. Additionally the GPU has advanced rendering features that a good bluray software can harness to take the video experience to new highs with increased quality. Not to mention the sound quality bonus potential if you get a quality sound card. The bluray player will have basic and decent support for video rendering but lack any high end improvements.
