I'm choosing parts for a near future X99 build. And I found this m.2 ssd called SR1020NP from Adata. And I found a motherboard called X99M Gaming 5 from Gigabyte. But the X99M gaming 5 only support PCIe x2/x1. So what happens when a x4 M.2 ssd only running @ x2 speed? And should I worry about the ssd overheating?

One more question for my build. I decided to use 2 GPU + a 4x M.2 ssd with a I7 5820k which only has 28 lanes. will my gpu and ssd run at x16, x8 and x4?

*sorry for my ingrish*

What if I use another motherboard? Can one gpu run @ x16 and the other running @ x8 and the m.2 running at x4? since 16 + 8 + 4 = 28

And you didn't answer the main question. What happens when a x4 ssd run at x2 speed?

Did you ever get an answer to your main question (if I use 2 GPU + a 4x M.2 ssd with a I7 5820k which only has 28 lanes, will my gpu and ssd run at x16, x8 and x4?) I see no one here answered it and I have the same question.
Thanks,
