Hi,

I got an idea. I want to make my pc-place a little cosy and nice, so Im thinking of modding my NXZT LED Sleeve. So, here's my thoughts-->

For example. I have a AC/DC adapter that outputs 5v and 1.2A, cut the other end and strip a few centimeters naked. Then just connect the red/plus cable to the red on the LED sleeve, and vice versa, and then plug it in the wall outlet.

I know, this isnt such a safe mod, but if it is done well and with care, it could end up pretty good. Would it WORK? If Yes- Would 5v & 1.2A be enough, or should I use lower/higher etc?

can you link to the exact sleeve you have?

It seems you don't have a whole lot to lose here, just a power supply and an LED strip at worst. try it first my twisting the wires together and folding a piece of electrical tape over one of the connections. if they are well illuminated and to your likeing solder them together with heat shrink on each wire and you will have done an ace job

Here it is - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812170027
2meter long.

I know it is a hard job, but i just wanna know purely theoretically if it would work. Plug red to red, black to black, isolate them and plug it in the wall. 5v & 1.2A

Yeah should be alright, and the first time you try something like this it can be tough but just a little practice makes this an easy task. I say give it a shot but leave yourself enough room when cutting to reattach it to he original control board.

Yea, I know these things isnt easy to do. I always get like, "smart" ideas about these things. But then most of the time I realize that it wasnt that easy as I thought. The pictures I get from my ideas on how to do it looks sooooo easy, haha..

Unfortunately, my soldering iron isnt here. But some twists and electrical-tape always works :D Im gonna check what I have etc, maybe fix a molex to the AC/DC adapter and a molex on the LED sleeve, I dno. I do have solder here, so I could solder with a regular BIC lighter, hehe..

Are you sure that 5v & 1.2A isnt too much? I DONT want to fry anything or destroy the house's fuse.
