Do i need a new copy of windows?

Ok, so i bought my orignal computer off dell.com and it came pre-loaded with windows. I just bought a new Mobo and processor is there a way i can create a bootable flash drive with the windows i already have or am i really going to have to go out and buy a new windows??

All OEM computers (Dell, Lenovo, etc) come with OEM versions of Windows.

According to the OEM license, it is tied to the motherboard (so you could update everything else, including the CPU).

Once you swap the motherboard, however, you need a new license.

I recommend getting a retail license that isn't tied to your hardware to future proof your setup from the OS side. It's worth the extra money.
