Need help. Seriously. I go to places and they try to explain to me how this bunch of letters and numbers is better then this for the price because single threading isn't bad, but then told how games in the future will mostly be multi-threaded...what the hell does thread have to do with anything?

I guess I'm supposed to have multiple cores as well, whatever the those are.

What is crossfire and why do I need it?

Liquid-cooling...are fans not working anymore?

SSD just sounds like STD to me and that all rhymed without me meaning it too. Why is this better than a Hard Drive and why are people putting both in? They both hold the same amount of storage right? So why do I not want a 1TB HD for $60 instead of a 240GB SSD for more?

I go online cause this makes no sense to me, and I'm given builds that have no OS (I know what that is!), no cd/blu-ray, and am told this is good.

I just want to play Sims 4, CIV: BE, and Tropico 5 in addition to fun flash games I find on the internet.

If anyone can help me it would be MUCH appreciated. My budget is no more than $800 including monitor, keyboard, mouse and audio.

Audio, as in headset, or speakers?
Also 800 what? Australian dollars, US Dollars, whatever else there is?

SLI isn't needed, its just basically the 2 of the same graphics cards helping to make the same frame, theoretically its 2x faster, but defiantly not worth it for the things you wanna play

Any CPU's that you are suggested to get will have multiple cores, basicly can just runs things faster, even the cheapest of cores that sell for dirt have (i think) 2 cores, but 4-8 is more suitable

liquid-cooling is only if you want to overclock (increase the speed) of your computer components, but otherwise the stock coolers that comes with them will be fine

SSD's are not worth it for the amount of space they have, better off just getting a half decent HD

just very basic explenation here ( if you really wanna know everything then read A LOT :)

a computer has the following:

Case: mini, normal and some that will make your desk brake in half

CPU: = control processing unit. for the newest games and future new games you can get a I5-4690K before the numbers make you disy: I7 has the most cores, I5 is the second best and a lot cheaper, this cpu is by gamers, it's more then enough for games ( The K is for when you want to overclock, if you dont want or know what that is then get the I5-4690 and save some money ).

SSD: ssd is like a really fast hard drive, most people install windows and their favorite games on it ( 256GB ). Because they cost so much you buy a hard drive ( HDD ) with that to place your movies and music etc. on. If you can afford it get an ssd, you can just wait for windows to start instead of getting a coffee and then wait another 5 minutes

crossfire and sli are fancy words for having two graphics cards ( crossfire for AMD graphics card and sli for nvidea graphics cards) But unless you want crazy graphics on the biggest pc screens with massive resolution you really dont need that. i would advise a GPU ( graphics card ) Nvidea GTX 970. Will run all the newest games and has a good price.

Cooling: 2 option liquid cooling is something for the peopla wanting to overclock and therefore generate a lot of heat. Liquid cooling is also nice if you want your pc to look pretty ( yup you can buy a case with a window so you can look at what's inside. Just think of it as a high tech christmass tree ) If you are getting a normal build then don't buy a seperate cooler. The stock coolers work just fine, they might make a bit more noise though ...

hope this helps. If it's to basic then sorry for wasting your time :)

you can play every game with your grandmothers pc if you bomb the resolution and settings.
But gaming with pixels the size of lego's is like having sex with a condom! utterly dissapointing.

My only conclusion i can get from your useless comment, would be the fact that you do not have any knowledge about computers or the current market?
