Hi all, I'm pretty terrible with computers. My research thus far has led me to confusing lists comparing all sorts of processors and graphics cards etc without any real clue what I'm looking at. So, I've come to you all for help with what will probably be an easy answer.

I'm looking to step up my current pc with a gaming desktop from the Vanquish 2 line of prebuilts. Currently I play wow but would like to at least try some more demanding games like sc2 and d3. I'd like to be able to raid 10-25 mans and pvp at a reasonable fps, but doubt I really need ultra graphics. Really I just need to see enough to know whats happening. I'm currently rocking an old Dell Inspiron laptop and get an awesome 8-10fps when solo questing.....

My budget is $850 and both of the lower models fit into that range, roughly. Would the base model with an AMD Radeon R7 260X 2GB and an AMD FX-4300 get the job done? I've tried watching gameplay videos on youtube but sadly my computer is so bad that the videos lag to much for me to get an accurate feel.

Any help will be greatly appreciated as I'm anxious to blow my xmas bonus!
Thank you

i5 would run Wow much better then an FX 8-core any day, as listed above it would be handy for the GPU listed. Also Wow is more CPU/Ram dependent then GPU.

Yes, the r7 and fx 4300 will get the job done very well. If I were going to choose one of those builds, I choose the level 2. It comes with a better quality power supply, a pretty drastically better graphics card, and a six core opposed to a quad. All of that for 150$ more. Think of it this way. You are spending the money for the computer running games well for the next few years. Games get more graphically intense as time goes by so spending more money is for the long run. The level two will destroy every game you listed and run them at max settings. Trust me, you will be happy. Good luck.

Welp, I went for the level 2 as you recommended. My excitement was quickly ruined by customer service who notified me that their shipping charge was inaccurate at $45 and that I would need to authorize an ADDITIONAL $290 in shipping costs.......

$950 computer + $300 shipping tacked on AFTER purchase because of their error = never working with digital storm again. I'm really disappointed because everyone talked so highly about working with the company.

Wow is poorly coded and with even an FX 8350 can sometimes do poorly due to this; The game is poorly threaded and AMD CPU's do poorly with these games. It may be absolutely fine, but at the same time it could do poorly.

Why not buy the parts and get a store to build it for you? That'll get you much better parts for the same price.

Thank you unknownofprob, I'd ran into opinions like this and is partially why I asked. I decided to look locally for a build that would suffice for my limited gaming.

I found: an HP setup with an intel i5, an nvidia graphics card and everything necessary to power it. It also comes with a 23" monitor for all under $1000. I'm not sure about the actual processor/card numbers but it's about all I can do unless I want to swallow astronomical shipping costs (I live in Alaska).
