Windows 8.1 freezes on startup logo on first boot.

Hello,
I've been having an issue with windows 8.1. When i first power on my pc it will reach the windows logo screen and show the loading circle. Then loading icon disappears and and is frozen on windows logo. Although when i press reset button it loads just fine. I would like to boot first time without having to press reset button.
Please share some insight.

The internal recovery partition should still be intact.
If you turn the PC on, then power off during boot a few times you should then be presented with the recovery options.

Sorry i forgot to mention my installation disc is windows 8 and i downloaded/installed the free windows 8.1 upgrade from the microsoft website. I've tried to repair with that disc but it won't allow that since its not 8.1.
