constant low fps in bf4 with r9 280x and fx 6300

i was getting frame drops but i changed my page file and now on high i get from 30 to high 40s fps in bf4. i have the latest drivers for my gpu.
i have
r9 280x windforce oc
fx 6300
asrock 970pro 3 motherboard
8gb ram
win 7

i just got a new win 7 and had my old folders backed up to a new hdd which i am using now. i deleted the old origin and games from the backup and installed new ones. if that helps

You might be bottlenecking on your CPU. Try underclocking the GPU core slightly to see if you still get frame drops. Put all the graphics settings to low and see what maximum FPS you can reach, then switch up each setting individually until you are getting a good steady framerate.

Your CPU is not amazing, so it might be holding you back a bit. The 280x is probably doing all the work. Time to consider an upgrade?

Bf4 is cpu intensive game. So I think your cpu is holding you back a little. You can trying overclocking cpu a little bit and see if it's better. What kind of cpu cooler do you have? Of that won't help then I would upgrade to fx 8320. You can get it at microcenter for 100 now. You can nicely overclock 8320 too. My previous 8320 went up to 4.8 ghz stable. Just option to consider. But for now try to disable all power saving features in bios such as cool and quiet and put it in performance mode so your cpu won't go up and down when you need full power. That might help.

So if you have 99% gpu usage that means your gpu is fine and temps are normal which is max before throttling down on furmark for that card. So my guess is your cpu holding you back. Can you run furmark with AA off and see your fps? I know aa takes lots of fps away cause gpu works harder. With that gpu you should have closer to 60 fps in bf4 on ultra. What are your temps for cpu while gaming or after?

i downloaded HW monitor and am getting 98% gpu utilisation and a max of 68 degrees Celsius
also 39 degrees Celsius max on the 6300 and 63.80 W for power
these results are while playing on default ultra and getting about 10-15 fps lower than i should at all times. with allmost no fps drops.
