Is 4GB of RAM gonna be enough for 2013 - 2014 games?

So here's the deal, im buying a new laptop, (gaming) and it has a 4th generation I7 4510 U with 2.10GHZ and turbo mode to 3.1GHz. For Graphics card, its got a 2GB GTX 840M. And for the RAM part its got a 4GB DDR3L. I think its enough for high end games but im worried about the RAM. Can you tell me if its gonna be good and play BF4, Watchdogs and all these cool games??? ( Well, Watch Dogs is kinda boring in the beginning but, well, what i can i do about it :) ) Or im i gonna be needing an upgrade soon?. Ive seen that in the gaming parts ram is less important than the graphics and the CPU (and the cooler apparently, which is weird). Your opinions??? (Also resolution is at 1366 x 768)

Yes that's exactly right. While playing windows + far cry 4 combined usage was over 8GB. Unfortunately at the time I wasn't paying full attention to all that was running since win 8.1 runs all those apps in the back ground along with anything else that was going on at the same time. Either way you have to take windows and any random number of applications running in the back ground while gaming since not everyone kills or feels the need to kill everything that could possibly be running before starting a game.

You're going to need at least 8GB of ram. If you haven't noticed some of the newer games are requiring minimum of at least that otherwise the game won't even run. Also the two games you listed require 8GB of ram so you won't be able to run them with 4GB.

Ac unity minimum requirement of RAM is 6gb and recommended is 8 gb plus who knows 2 years before 4 gb ram was more than enough for any game and before that 2 gb was enough so after a year or so when the games will be much more demanding then there will be a need of minimum of 8 gb ram.

Exactly! A great example is that I was playing Far Cry 4 and observed 8.5GB memory in use at one point.

If you can't buy 8GB RAM laptop you can buy that same laptop too, RAM is upgradable easily, I have done that too. You can swap with new or if it have empty slot you can insert new stick. If you can raise budget, you can go for other laptop with higher RAM.
