Just built a new rig. Relevant parts:
Gigabyte 970 GTX
ASRock h97m-itx/ac motherboard
Seasonic G series 550w power supply
2560x1440 Monoprice IPS

The problem:
at seemingly random intervals, my screen goes black for a few seconds at a time. When it comes back up, my monitor shows the message that it has auto-detected the DVI signal. It's hard for me to give a good estimate for how often this happens, but I would say less than once every 5 minutes. Sometimes everything works for 15+ minutes. I tried downloading a stress test for the video card, but that didn't seem to have an affect on frequency (or at least, not a significant one).

What I've done:
updated video card drivers (344.75) and unplugged-replugged all the relevant power connections and dvi cable. The dvi cable is the same one I've been using for 2 years so I doubt something suddenly happened to it. I've looked at past threads, but very few had answers that weren't just "make sure your cable is plugged in"

Any ideas? I'm not sure how to trouble shoot this

I can try a different DVI capable, but my monitor doesn't have any hdmi ports so that's not an option. Also, I just played league of legends for an hour and didn't have a single incident of the screen going black. I find it strange that video card usage doesn't seem to affect it.
