Hello, I've bought a new motherboard (ASRock Z77 Extreme 4) after my old one (Asus P8Z77-M Pro) perished. But I am extremely dissapointed with the software based fan tuner that was added with the ASRock drivers. (ASRock Extreme Tuning Utility).

Even with everything put on the lowest setting, it still sounds like an aeroplane taking off in my room. Extremely annoying, and really not workable in any way.

Previously I had an Asus, and AI Suite 2 was a complete dream to work with. It was silent when it had to be, and sped up accordingly when it was needed.

Is there a different tool that I might use on this ASRock motherboard, I don't have a hardware Fan Controller, I might buy one in the future. So I wonder if there are any working software solutions?

I'm using that programme, I said so in the opening post. It has hardly any effect, it still sounds like a vacuum cleaner.

I know this is an extremely old post however it was one of the top results when looking into my issue.

Depending on your asrock boad some of the fan headers cannot be controlled via bios/utility. Mine for example has a 4 pin chasis header that I cannot in any way control with a 3 pin fan connected. However every other header on the board can be adjusted. It is possible it is just 1-2 fans that are being extremely loud as they will run at 100% all of the time.

Just something I stumbled across so thought I would add it here in case others run into it as well.
