Hey,so I'm very limited when it comes to my knowledge of computers and I have been experiencing an issue with my external speakers. The right speaker is much quieter than my left,I am using a 5.1 surround system with a realtek inbuilt sound card. When i fiddle with the settings I can sort of balance out the sounds but i have to literally turn the left speaker all the way down on room correction to -10 decibels whilst having the right speaker turned all the way up to +10 decibels and even drag the volume mixer quite far to the right. If i place the volume mixer in the middle at 0 and reset the room config to default, all the sound comes out of the left and I have to press the right speaker straight up to my ear to hear the sound.Just for extra info the centre speaker also works perfectly,it's just the right speaker.
However, when I plug in headphones it works perfectly fine and the left and ride side are balanced perfectly.I have tested both of the audio jacks on the computer in the front and back, and the headphones always work.
I was wondering if this means that it's an issue with my speakers if the headphones are working fine and not the computer software or something with the computer in general ? any help would be extremely appreciated!

Solution
Sounds like that one particular speaker has an incomplete connection or the like. I have had motherboards where a rear channel port has gone out, such as the side speakers, but it affected both left and right channels.
First check the wires for continuity. check the length of the speakers wire for breaks or kinks. Possibly moving the cable around could bring the sound back, indicating a break inside the cable.
But if not..

I would say replace the speaker or the whole set would be better.
