Can I mix different RAMs?

Hello guys, I'm wondering if I can mix, for example, a Kingston HyperX Fury 4GB 1866MHz with an -already bought- Corsair Vengeance kit 2x4 GB 1600MHz.

Do I have to buy exactly the same model, only a RAM with the same MHz and CAS latency, or it doesn't matter at all?

My mobo is a Gigabyte GA-Z97X-SLI, with 4 slots, just for the record.

Solution
You can technically mix different RAM modules and they will run at the slowest RAM speed but you'll probably run into conflicts that will cause crashes.

who the**** selected this as best answer? no offense, man

I'll get the 1600MHz version to same some bucks... different CAS latency, will that cause crashes like you said?

(edited your thread, and will take care of the offender, but pls watch the language, any problems in the future, give me a shout T)

Keep in mind the Fury sticks don't run on XMP they use PnP so mixing with regular DRAM that does use XMP (99+ % of all 1600 and over DRAM can be very problematic), will prob have to go manual setup to even try to get them to play with one another
