Hi all. First of all I am attempting to create a dual boot machine with Windows 7 as my go to operating system and Windows XP for a few games that won't run on Win 7. EasyBCD is installed and working correctly and I was able to get XP to install in IDE mode however if I can make it work in SATA that would be ideal. I recently slipstreamed the driver for Intel 7 Series/C216 Chipset Family SATA AHCI Controller into my copy of Windows XP (this is the name of the controller in Windows 7 device manager) with nlite and when I booted from the cd all went well in AHCI mode and it displayed all of my hard drives. So all goes well and the files are installed and the first boot from the hard drive where it adds devices, registries and the cd key all goes fine. So now it reboots again and it won't load XP it just shows the kind of faded Win XP load page and goes directly into a reboot plus I cannot boot in IDE mode either since I installed in AHCI mode. Now I have also installed XP in IDE mode and when I install the SATA drivers in the Windows XP environment it also became unbootable. I understand it is possible to get Windows XP to run in AHCI mode so I am not ready to give in and switch from AHCI to IDE each time I want to switch OS's. I have a M.S.I. H77MA-G43 mobo which has the H77 chipset and of course I have no floppy. I would appreciate help on this matter.
Best Regards
