i had two 4gb dolgix ram sticks in my pc but wanted something a bit better so my brother gave me one of his 8gb corsair vengeance sticks at 1866mhz so i swapped out the two 4gb ram sticks for the one ram stick is this better or was the two 4gb ones better ?

it also shows my ram the 1 corsair vengeance stick in task manager as 2.20gb is this right ?

No, an 8GB stick should show as 8GB. What mobo, CPU and OS - my first guess is that you are running a 32bit OS, 2nd guess is that mobo doesn't even support 8GB sticks, therefore it only 'sees' 4GB of the 8GB stick and some is being reserved for hardware use

am running on a 64bit with (CPU) DEVILS CANYON i5-4690k 3.5GHz CLOCKED to 4.2GHz WINDOWS 7 ULTIMATE and a (GPU) MSI TWIN FROZER GAMING GTX780 3gb am playing games like DAYZ BATTLEFIELD4 ARMA3 my (MOTHERBOARD) is a GIGAYTE-Z97X-SLI

it shows as 8gb on my system but i mean when i play games its shows only like 2.20gb usage is that normal
