Should I crossfire my 7970, or upgrade my i5 CPU?

Hey guys, just a simple question for you today.

I have enough money to buy most likely an XFX Black Edition Double D R9 280X (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150690&cm_re=r9_280x-_-14-150-690-_-Product) to crossfire with my XFX HD Radeon 7970. But on the other hand, I have a i5-4670 that I could upgrade instead to an i7-4790k (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819117369).
I don't have enough for both, but wanted to get some more input. Should I crossfire my 7970, or upgrade my processor?

Also, if you were going to say Crossfire my GPU, if there is a better brand that I should buy, leave a comment about that too please! :) Thanks!

The i5 to i7 upgrade will do zero for you in terms of gaming.

If this upgrade is to game, then crossfire teh cards, providing your motherboard and psu can handle it.

If you are doing complex CPU tasks like 3d rendering then upgrade the CPU.

The best upgrade is what's good for your usage.

Thank you, it really helped. That was what I was figuring, but always good to get a second input. Thanks!

The i5 4670 is already a tier one CPU.

You'll need a good quality 900+W PSU to run them too. eg Antec HCG 900, Corsair AX860, EVGA Supernova G2 1000

Oh damn, so you're saying my NZXT Hale 82N 650W couldn't handle the crossfire?
