I'm trying to use an old Sony Camcorder (DCR-HC32 to be precise) and it does not work in USB streaming mode in Windows 7, only in Windows XP. I tried to use Windows XP mode but it says it can't be installed for some reason, so I'm left only with DVDriver which lets me use it as a Firewire webcam.
However, I wanted to know if there is a free alternative to this software. I'm not belittling its developer, but a cheap webcam is worth like 3 dollars or something like that. I just wanted to connect it and try it for one particular event and that's it. If not, I'll just get a cheap webcam, but it's a shame if it could be done with what I already have.
