I'm not sure to upgrade my i5-2500K to a Haswell CPU or wait for the Broadwell chips, and there are rumor's saying Skylake chips will be coming out as soon as broadwell's out so 2016. Keep in mind my i5-2500K is not overclocked due to motherboard and cooler. So i was thinking of getting a haswell i5-4690k with a z97 board later around January and after Christmas morning buy a h80i and some sp120 corsair fans and a new case so i can install the watercooler. Seeing that the z97 chips will support broadwell I can always upgrade later or should i wait for skylake chips and hold of the purchase on the case and cooler ?

You will have to wait for the Skylake. The upcoming Broadwell 1150 processor will be only 65 watts. It will be released in April 2015.

The present 4770K is 85W. I would suspect you will not be getting much more performance.

The next, Skylake will be a full 95W and is being released maybe June 2015.

Another issue is new graphics standards are making more cores better useable. Look for multi-core CPU's to be finally utilized. You may want to wait for the upcoming Broadwell-EP (2011-3 socket)

Broadwell is not likely to be a big jump forward and will matter more for laptops than desktop platforms. I suspect that Skylake is going to be later than June 2015, and am guessing Fall 2015 or even 2016. I would love to see it sooner as I am waiting for it to upgrade my main desktop as well.

So should i spring for a a new Mobo and the H80i and just overclock and wait the year for the skylake ? if so what mobo ? there isn't allot of z77 left anymore to buy in Canada stores like tigerdirect or canada computer, pretty disappointing :/ does new egg ship ? would like to buy there ASRock Z77 Extreme4. Also should i go for a new Mobo and OC or just leave it the way it is ?

I'm hoping June, the i5-2500k is doing decent but not good or greater due to it not being over clocked so should i buy a Mobo and overclock my i5-2500k for the long wait till skylake ? or keep it at 3.3Ghz ?

To be honest yes i feel like my gtx 770 isnt performing as well as other rigs my friends rig i7-3770k and gtx 650 gets 30 frames more than me in dayz standalone that's how lacking my CPU is, i have till tomorrow to make my mind up at the store i have about 600-700$ to spend. Also i have a h61 chipset so i feel like my mobo is also bottleneck if that's even possible.

4.5Ghz should be easy to reach with this CPU as long as i didn't get a bad chip.

Here is a max out system for about $700. To save money you can step down to 8GB RAM but be sure to keep it with no heat spreader so the ram will fit under the cpu cooler. Also you can step down to the I5-4690K to save another $100. The Asus A motherboard is a good board that can fit all this stuff.

since i have ram already i don't need any :p
one thing to notice I live in Canada and tomorrow is boxing day so huge sales :D I will probably just get the CPU and Mobo and than save a little more and get a new case and cooler the h100i and nzxt h440 reason being is the cheapest 4770k i found was 350$ so I'm gonna spring for that right away tomorrow and for the Mobo there are a couple

1. ASRock Z97 Pro3 $120
2. Asrock Fatal1ty Z87 Killer $119 On clearance amazing price for that board :D
3. Asrock Z87 Pro3 Socket $99 On clearance sale again amazing price for the Mobo
4. ASUS Z87-C $120

I know there are so gigabyte but lately they have been going down hill lots of DOA same thing with msi i only trust asrock and asus also i aware of the z87 chipset not supporting 5th gen but realistically skylake comes out shortly after broadwell so pointless buying broadwell and also there will be a BIOS update that will let z87 support 5th gen but that will be in long time or a while.
