I have a lenovo thinkpad w530. Intel core i7 2.7 GHz processor, 8 GB ram. with Windows 7
please let me know if there is more info that i should include.

basically a control is being passed from a driver to a user mode program incorrectly.
I would be looking for a error in a scanner like bit defender, or having several scanners running at the same time, maybe malware attacking your system.

I would, run the system file check utility to confirm your core windows files are not corrupted.
start cmd.exe as an admin, run the command
sfc.exe /scannow

and confirm that no errors are found that could not be fixed.

I would then disable bitdefender and run a standalone run of malwarebytes and make sure there is no malware installed.

otherwise you would have to put your minidump .dmp file on a server somewhere to let someone take a quick look to figure out the likely problem.

malware/virus software can corrupt programs in an attempt to pass control from a driver to a usermode app to break into your system, windows has put in a bunch of checks for this and might call a bugcheck if it detects it. just run the malwarebytes program to see if it complains about some of your installed software.

I do indeed use bitdefender as my main antivirus software. Do you think that could be causing it? How do I look for an error in bitdefender??

I've run the system file checker multiple times, and it always says no integrity violations could be found.

i also just downloaded and installed the free version of malwarebytes. I ran a malware scan after disabling everything on bitdefender. Nothing was detected.

so it looks like i will have to upload the dump files. how can i do that? thank you for your help.

basically you just need to copy your memory .dmp file to a cloud server like google docs, microsoft one drive, mediafire or any of the other services. make the file public so it can be downloaded and looked at with a windows debugger

the files are located at C:\Windows\Minidump\
on your machine.

I would uninstall bitdefender and see if you still get the bugcheck, if you do, then upload the copy to a public server
from your C:\Windows\Minidump\ folder

Ok, so here's the link to a zip file of all 5 of the dmp files generated .

overall, remove your tuneup utility(or update to current version), go to Lenovo website and update your various hardware drivers for your system.
if you are up to date, I would make sure that the bitdefender is up to date. if it is up to date, I would start uninstalling either part or all of bitdefender. (I would try microsoft's scanner and do malwarebytes to check for malware)

- I would expect the cause of the bitdefender failure is related to a bug in one of your old custom drivers you have on your system.
(error returned from your custom hard drive driver could crash bitdefender which crashed the system)

--------------
memory dump 122514-24242-01.dmp
BugCheck 4A, {7764132a, 2, 0, fffff8800a5b5b60}
IRQL_GT_ZERO_AT_SYSTEM_SERVICE (4a)

looks like bitdefender vsserv.exe problem
I would expect that bitdefender's real time protection is out of date or being having issues with another driver you have installed
(maybe, DzHDD64.sys from 2011 Lenovo Doze Mode HDD control, update this driver if you can)

here are some of the bitdefender drivers you have installed:
bdfndisf6 \??\c:\program files\common files\bitdefender\bitdefender firewall\bdfndisf6.sys Wed Nov 13 05:12:19 2013
bdfwfpf \??\C:\Program Files\Common Files\Bitdefender\Bitdefender Firewall\bdfwfpf.sys Mon Oct 29 05:23:28 2012
other bitdefender files are current (sept 11 2014)

your fingerprint scanner driver is old (2011)
C:\Program Files\ThinkVantage Fingerprint Software\smihlp.sys Mon May 30 09:21:37 2011

overall, I would expect that if bitdefender is up to date. The problem would be caused by another driver that is corrupting kernel data and causing bitdefender to crash the system.

- I would remove
C:\Program Files (x86)\TuneUp Utilities 2014\TuneUpUtilitiesDriver64.sys Fri May 25 03:28:19 2012

- it looks like your BIOS current 8/22/2014
- you will want to go to your lenovo website and see if you can get a driver update for all of your hardware on your machine
some of your hardware drivers are old (several custom hardware drivers from 2011)
5U877 UVC driver for Ricoh camera from 2012

I went on my Device Manager, and manually checked to make sure that all the drivers were updated. So, if a driver is responsible for the crashes, it might already be updated.

In any case, I removed and reinstalled bitdefender, and my fingerprint scanner.
So far, that seems to have taken care of it for now.
