Hi I just built my first PC and hooked it up to my new monitor, keyboard, and mouse. Nothing starts up and my monitor gets no signal. The fans and lights come up so I know some parts are running, then after every 30 seconds to a minute it stops for like 2-3 seconds, then starts up again. I'm pretty sure my motherboard doesn't have a light that shows that it's working or not, but the manual didn't say anything about one.

I've tried re-wiring everything, taking everything out and placing it back again(except the mobo, because it was such a pain to put it in the first place), took out the cpu/heatsink and put it back, and leaving the power off for an hour. I plugged in the VGA/DVI & HDMI cables both into the integrated graphics and my graphics card and BOTH do not change anything on my monitor. I am starting to think I may have broken my motherboard while building it... I haven't even opened the box until I got all my parts today. I've looked at over 10 different threads and tried almost everything in them to no avail. I can't get the beeps because the small speaker I got has only 2 slots for pins, and my speaker pins on my mobo has 4 pins.

Please HELP, I don't have enough money for another motherboard, and I was really looking forward to this computer for over 5 months. :(

Specs:

Intel Core i5-4590 3.3GHz Quad-Core

ASRock H97M PRO4 Micro ATX LGA1150

G.Skill Ares Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600

Crucial MX100 128GB 2.5" SSD

Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM

EVGA GeForce GTX 750 Ti 2GB

Corsair 430W ATX12V

Speakers only need 2 pin connections.

Edit: go with alexoiu on your speaker connection, try pin 1 and pin 4 if your speaker pin connections are individual and allow you to do so, if the speaker connection is 2 pin (with no space in between), try pin 1 and 2.

I suggest testing the board outside the case (I know), removing the CPU and checking the socket for bent pins. If OK, reinstall the CPU, CPU fan, connect the case speaker (use pins 1 and 4 from motherboard - the middle ones are dummy), both 24 and 8 pin power cables, start the board (still outside the case - put it on its box) and see if the CPU fan does spin without restarting and if any beeps.

I tried the 2-pin method and still no beeps. Going to try alexoiu's suggestion of testing the board outside the case.

Tested it outside the case, still restarts after every minute, and can't use the 1st and 4th pins because the 2 slots are inseparable. The last 7 hours have been all disappointment. At this point it seems like something is broken or bad, I just don't know what. Any ideas?

I checked it again, and it looks fine to me. No bent pins or anything that looks out of place. The CPU fit pretty snug.

I've been using the intel stock fan that came with the CPU, at least I'm fairly sure that's the one you're talking about, I didn't need to install a backplate.

Thanks for the video, I tried fitting it in again, but unfortunately the restarting problem still exists. I don't think it's even a heating issue, though. I have a fan in my case as well, and the air in my room is cold all the time. Do you think this issue is connected to why I can't connect to my monitor, as well?

I've been working on this for around 9 hours now, so I'll be going to sleep soon. Maybe I can figure something out when I wake up. Thanks for the help.

Anyone found the solution to this?

A very late reply, but I had to buy a new mobo and power supply. I upgraded to a corsair 750W PSU and also got changed the cooler to a 212 EVO from the intel stock one. It's been working flawlessly for months now.
