hey guys, first time PC builder here. My PC wont boot and the red CPU LED is on in the motherboard. before you tell me to head to this link http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/261145-31-perform-steps-posting-post-boot-video-problems, i have been through these steps a number of times, including breadboarding, to the tee, to no avail (except updating BIOS because i cannot get a screen up and Im pretty sure all components are supported anyway).

I have had constant issues since i first built the PC about a week ago. all the fans, hdd, gpu, ram and other components are running fine with green led lights. when i first noticed the red light i would remove parts such as the cpu, gpu and ram and then reinsert them and the PC would boot fine. sometimes the computer would run for hours, sometimes minutes. Ive even installed windows 8 operating system and a number of applications. today the PC suddenly gave a no signal on monitor, the red cpu led came on and not only will the computer no longer boot but i can no longer turn off the computer from the front. I have completely run out of ideas and was wondering whether i have a fried cpu or motherboard or whatever, hopefully thats not the case and any help would be greatly appreciated! thanks

my specs:
Motherboard: M5A99FX PRO R2.0 - ASUS
GPU: ASUS GeForce GTX 760 DirectCU II 2GB
CPU amd fx8300
RAM: G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600
PSU: Corsair Builder Series CX500
HDD: Seagate 500GB Barracuda 3.5" Internal Hard Drive
optical drive: ASUS 24x green DVD-Writer

Solution
I think its ami. 2 beeps means faulty parity circuit - storage - ram or drive(s).

Run memtest on your ram

Do Checkdisk with Repair on your hard drive.

UPDATE: the system lets off two beeps suggesting a parity circuit failure.

i can now sometimes get the computer to post with one stick of memory (in any slot) and either stick of memory, but not both sticks of memory inserted at the same time. is this an issue with my motherboard, my memory or just a settings issue?
