What are your predictions for price movements on i5-4690k and similar CPU's for the first quarter of 2015?

Planning an upgrade, its not urgent so I am biding my time and bargain hunting.

I know that more information will become available as new products are unveiled in early january. How optimistic/pesimistic are you regarding price drop for current high-end CPU's in the first quarter of 2015?

I dont see any reason for price drops at this point. There is nothing to force the prices down, silicon fabrication has remained steady, no increase or decrease in production costs, etc.
I wouldnt hold your breath.

I don't see any reason for Intel to decrease the price, the retailers maybe, but probably not by a lot.
