Hi

So I am upgrading from Asus P8Z77 V LX to ASUS Sabertooth X79 LGA 2011, is there anyway that I dont have to resinstall windows 7?

Also from I7 3770k to I7 4930k

Hello... Plug in your OS hardrive and see if it boots to Windows... Sometimes it does. Then all you have to do is un-install your previous MB chipset drivers and install the new ones.
I was successful recently with a P35 Q9550 to Q77 i7 3770... Boot into Windows 7 Pro... just needed the new Chipset MB drivers. Too make things easier on the Booting OS, disable all the LAN, Audio Devices, in the MB BIO's if they are different chips than your OLD MB.

My recommendation is not to try.... However you can use sysprep to clear out all your old driver information before the upgrade and it should work okay.

If you do try it, there's a great walk-through here:

Just wanted to add that technically this is what sysprep was more or less designed to do... however this is also a great excuse to do a fresh install of windows so it's up to you.

You will be much better off doing a clean install and you'll spend less time putting band aides over the system to keep it running. Just do it right so you can enjoy you machine.
