Hi, my husband and I swapped towers to allow for a larger graphics card. We are using the same mb and same hdd but we are getting "no boot device" We dbk chk'd the sata and the mb and hdd are connected. We chked the bios and order is correct and it is seeing it. Its like the os is gone. How can this happen?

Solution
Did you reattach to exactly the same SATA port with your boot drive?

You didn't mention the OS, but I will assume that it is Windows 7 for now. Just start up with the install disk in the drive and do a startup repair. That will fix your system reserved partition to find the correct drive. If you don't have the install disk handy, just download an ISO image of the exact same version from Digital River, burn to DVD and use that to boot.

update: I figured it out, for some reason it is resetting boot order but its being weird. I noticed in the bios that the sata and hdd are the same thing but in the boot order it is trying to load them apart. IE: Boot order is 1.) 2TB HD 2.) SATA 3.CD so I switched the HD and the sata and now its working again. I have never had this happen be4 so kinda strange and not sure what caused it
