I was playing Terraria (not a demanding game), and I noticed that my CPU was running well above stock speed. I did not overclock my CPU at all.
The CPU is an i5-4670K, which has a stock speed of 3.4 ghz.
I couldn't get a screenshot of it, but I had times where it hit 4.1 ghz.
Why is it doing this? Is it bad? Should I be concerned? How do I disable it? Is it bad if I disable this?http://

Afaik it has a 3.8Ghz turbo frequency, from there it can escalate another 200mhz or something like that but can't remember where I read that.

Anyways, you can monitor your Temperature while gaming with HWMonitorPro (enable it's log feature), if you see the CPU is going beyond 70ºC then yes it could be an issue, otherwise it's operating inside acceptable values and there's no reason to worry about.
Nothing to worry about, your CPU has the "Turbo Boost" feature which essentially makes the CPU run at a higher frequency when needed as long as it detects it will remain under safe operative values (temperature and voltage wise), so leave it be and enjoy the extra processing power this feature gives you.

My CPUs Turbo Boost is going beyond what it is supposed to (3.8 GHz). Is that still safe?

Never seen it go above 50. Thanks mate.

If you have not overclocked the cpu, and it is doing this on it own, it should be fine. As far as i know the turbo boost can sustain up to 3.8 on all cores, so it is probably going up to 4.1 on a single core, which will be fine for the cpu. Your cpu can overclock to 4.5 and be fine so do not worry about it hitting 4.1, just enjoy the boost in performance like Rad said above.
