Which laptop should i purchase between this acer and asus

The Asus is more solidly built with 'better' physical construction and generally higher quality components. The Acer is more of a budget build and can have more flexibility or flimsiness than some people like. Acer is great value for money though.

can you elaborate on how much better the battery is? I would use this at school and home mostly. Maybe eventually work. Mostly used for videos movies music pictures. Maybe very simple games that can be handled by integrated graphics. I am not huge on the touch screen. Can you also elaborate on the asus being tougher? If i drop it will it less likely break or are the components on the motherboard tougher?

I got the asus. I would prefer better quality with bad customer support than bad quality with good customer support. After researching on all the options asus was the best buy. Also after look at opinions between the two, one forum said 90% preferred asus. I also read some reviews that said hope nothing goes wrong with your asus because their support is garbage so i hope it goes well
