I recently checked speccy, and my GTX 770 (msi), appears to be running at a GPU clock of 692MHz, and the Memory clock is showing at 3505MHz.

As far as i know this isn't normal, I have recently been playing lords of the fallen, and it seemed to be dealing a lot worse with the game than i thought.

Does anyone have any idea as to what might be going on? or am I simply misreading speccy (i know that it's a common flaw for people to read Ram speeds at half).

Cheers

What you cpu as it not full loaded in the picture but it is running at the clock speed that it should. Do you have vsync on?That will limit you to you monitor refresh rate(usually 60) but in a few game it can cause input lag which you make the game seem slower. I certain that nvidia memory spec(on there website) are there rated speeds so if you divide by 4 you get the memory clock. You temp are good and the power supply is more that adequate from what I know. What are you setting and resolution also. I was looking up some info and found this that may help also. http://steamcommunity.com/app/265300/discussions/0/613940477641423773/

Is that while the game is running. Modern graphic card reduce their speed when idle. A program like gpu-z can montier the clocks as well as the temp of the card(It the program I use there are others). Some possible cause of lower than normal clock when playing a game is the gpu doesn't have all of it power plug in(the 6\8 pin on the card), the power supply isn't able to provide enough power,or that the card is overheating when play the game.
it also as a lower core clock then it should as it base reference(didn't mention if the card is factory overclocked) is 1046-1085 is if you factor boost.

The values I showed were idle, however when I was running Lords, I got http://i.imgur.com/suSMQOZ.png (which still seems low?).
And the card that i bought was http://www.msi.com/product/vga/N770_TF_4GD5OC.html#hero-overview.
The card is connected with one pci-e 4 pin, and one pci 3 with a 4pin converter, and my PSU is a 700W, so power shouldn't be the issue.
I'm not sure that it's a heating problem as my GPU is running at 60c when i'm playing, which doesn't seem massive.

Perhaps i'm just confusing myself about what you said with the core clock? I'm not the most tech savvy person :)

The core is the gpu clock speed. That gpu-z is what the the card report is it max speed it won't show the idle or either it slowing down but there sensor option on the middle tab that should show the current clock as well as usage. As for the power supply what brand and make is it as some cheaper unit can't provide the rated watts. As for the connector you said you had a 3pin and 4 pin(that I know for pci e there only 6\8pin with the option to use convertor from 4 pin) so I don't know he cable you using to connected but according to the card page it require 2 8pin connectors. A card may work without proper power connection but at a reduce performance.

Right, I think I follow, does that mean that the clock is actually under performing then (at the 1753MHz) or is that value being brought up by a set of cores working together? The PSU is OCZ, and really sorry, that's my bad, i use 1 8 pin, and 1 6 pin that has a 6 to 8 pin converter, that then runs into my modular supply.

Cheers for your help so far, i appreciate you taking the time to baby sit me through this :D

I think the memory that actual speed and that the rating is 4* actual as it is with my 560ti. what the sensor say about the clock when a game playing as it will tell you. Do you know the make\series of the psu.

when playing lords of the fallen, the card sits at 1752.8MHz on the memory clock monitor (http://i.imgur.com/n1Xw1XC.png).

Any my PSU is an OCZ 700W (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817341018), which as far as i know should be more than adequate.
