PLEASE help - can't change CORE RATIOs for my i7 5820k without BSOD

I'm trying to OC an i7 5820K on an ASUS X99 Pro motherboard but I literally cannot do a thing because when starting with default BIOS settings that will allow me to get into Windows, once I change the CPU Ratio from AUTO to SYNC ALL CORES in BIOS I will get a BSOD upon saving and restarting - no matter what. I have tried leaving every other setting at the default as well as setting the Ratio to stock speed (33) and even downclocking ! No matter what I will yield a 9C blue screen until I return the Ratio from SYNC ALL CORES back to Auto. If I use the "OC TUNER" in BIOS it will do some kind of 'auto overclock' to 4ghz but leave all other settings at Auto. I've also tried increasing the core voltage to no avail but it also begs the question of ... why would I need to increase core voltage if I'm keeping the CPU speed at or UNDER stock in my testings?

I'm not sure how to proceed with this. I was thinking of maybe trying to set it to PER CORE and see if I can one at a time keep all the cores to AUTO but put just 1 core at a set amount to see if maybe it's a single core causing problems? I don't know what else to do.

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

UPDATE: 4 Months later I still don't have a working PC.

I sent my motherboard back to ASUS RMA but they sent me the exact same board back. I then went to my local microcenter and purchased a NEW ASUS x99 Pro (my original being from newegg) and installed my parts in the new motherboard. Same EXACT issue. Has to be the CPU, right? I return the board, and RMA my CPU. Intel sends me a new chip and yet again the exact SAME issue. It's neither my MOBO or CPU? Really? The problem is so specific to the CPU settings in AI tweaker.

It's such a STRANGE issue in that I can get to Windows fine if I LOAD OPTIMIZED DEFAULTS, then just change PCH Storage Sata controller to RAID so I can access my raid volume and boot.

However, the following will cause the BSOD after windows logo...

1) Changing CPU Core Ratio from AUTO to SYNC ALL Cores, even if I leave all cores at auto (stock) or even if I DOWNCLOCK the CPU !

2) Disabling Intel Speedstep.

If I do 2 I can then re-enable it to get access to windows but I if I do 1 even setting sync all cores back to auto will not work, until I reload optimized defaults (despite it not changing anything else in the AI Tweaker)

I've ran MEMTEST and had several passes with no errors on my G.Skill Ripjawz 2666mhz (which I've tried at speeds as low as 1866 as well).

Blue Screen shows the following-

MACHINE CHECK EXCEPTION
STOP 0X0000009C (0X000000000000012) (0XFFFFF880026D6D30) (0X00000000FE200000)(0X0000000000041136)

Also worth noting that once I've touched the AI Tweaker that this blue screen will occur no matter what, even attempting safe mode.

I tried a core voltage of 1.3 but I didn't even think it was worth mentioning because it's not a matter of the overclock itself... it's a matter of doing ANYTHING outside of optimized defaults (even downclocking or keep stock settings but turning off ratio -> auto) will cause this crash.

What can I do?

Have you updated/ flashed the BIOS yet?

Also I have heard that DDR4 memory should be lowered to a lower speed to ensure more overclocking stability. I heard the 2866 mhz ( or something like that) isn't very stable on 5820K's.

I'm not an expert in X99 overclocking as I have never had a chance to get one. Just a couple of suggestions though.
