Swapping Primary/Secondary HDD's Windows 8.1

I just recently installed W8.1 Pro on a new SSD that is my primary drive. All OK. What I would like to do is clone a new SSD from my original SSD install and use it as my primary drive (better performance). All this I know I can do. However, I will want to re-use my original SSD as a secondary internal storage. Can anyone explain in simple terms what steps I need to go through to completely eradicate W8.1 generated system/partitions on what will be my secondary drive. Yes, I have to mention that I have used Bitlocker which I understand has some influence on how the system partition behaves. Both SSD's are 240 GB and my laptop is an HP Envy TouchSmart m7-j020DX that conveniently has two drive bays.

You will be better off just installing the new drive, and than installing Win 8 to it.

What you are describing is to clone the existing drive, to the new drive. You will need a cloning program such as Clonezilla to do this. After you clone the drive, install the new drive, and then you need to blank the old drive before installing it.

Yes, I have thought about it and it would be the easy way but I think I would like to do the swap. I already have cloning software and I think I am clear on that process. Not sure what you mean by "blank". If you mean re-formatting it then that is really the question as I understand formatting does not remove the Windows (8.1) system partition...

Yes, I do get your point, it would be easier to use SSD #2 as the secondary but then I am not one to always take the easy route. So I guess my original question still stands, does anyone know what has to be done to erase/remove the hidden system partition (created by W8.1 clean install) from a previous primary drive and return it to its original factory (blank!) condition....Thanks
