Hello everyone,

I'm looking to build my first PC ever. I would like for this PC to be geared towards gaming. I grew up on console gaming, and after some thought, I've decided to go down the PC gaming path. However, my focus at the moment is for this PC to play emulated games, especially on the Dolphin and PCSX2 emulators. I'd also like to replay my favorite games on these emulators in HD. Furthermore, I look to leisurely play some of the latest games on this PC. I'm not looking to play these games on the highest settings and expecting 60 fps. However, I would prefer it if I could play these games on a medium to high setting while staying above 30 fps. I will also use this PC for other personal uses. I would also like the ability to overclock, upgrade, and expand on this PC in the future if I choose to do so.

I've done some research on PC building the last few days, and I've come up with the following list of items. My price range is $700 - $800.

Corsair Carbide Series SPEC-01 RED LED Black ATX Mid Tower Gaming Computer Case
MSI Z97 PC Mate LGA 1150 Intel Z97 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard
Intel Core i5-4690K Devil's Canyon Quad-Core 3.5GHz LGA 1150 Desktop Processor BX80646I54690K
EVGA 02G-P4-3753-KR G-SYNC GeForce GTX 750 Ti Superclocked 2GB 128-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 Video Card
G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL9D-8GBXL
Western Digital WD Blue WD10EZEX 1TB 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive - OEM
CORSAIR CX series CX500 500W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply
LITE-ON DVD Burner SATA Model iHAS124-14 - OEM
Intel Network 7260.HMWWB.R WiFi WIRELESS-AC 7260 H/T 2X2 AC 867 Mbps+ Bluetooth HMC Dual Band Brown Box

Note: I know for gaming, many tend to buy a quality GPU over a quality CPU. But since my top priority for this PC is emulation, I focused more of my budget on a quality CPU.

Since I'm new to all of this, I would like to get feedback from some of you guys. Any recommended changes are welcome.

Thanks for your help,

Plus, add two of these fans to the top two exhaust fan locations. It comes with front and rear fans, but no top exhausts.

That Spec-01 case only comes with a single front intake fan. No rear or top exhaust fans.

You can then add whatever network adapter you want.

Considering the capability of the motherboard and the included aftermarket CPU cooler, you can then crank up the overclock on the CPU to 4-4.5Ghz and get much better performance out of it, since CPU performance is on of your concerns.
