Workstation RAID Controller

I want ultra fast read and write IO with protection from single disk failure for my new workstation. I'm currently thinking this card http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B002IT4YGM/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE with 8 of these http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00E3W1726/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A1JYCZKZSMGUR7 (which advertise 410mb/s write) configured RAID 5.

Any comments/advice welcome.

The last I knew, which was a while ago, TRIM is not supported in RAID 5.
I'm also pretty sure that's a PCIe x4 connector so data transfer may not be as fast as you're expecting, but it will still be blindingly fast.
Lastly, make sure you get the battery pack for it (assuming there is one). I've had issues in the past where a system has crashed and taken the array with it because a battery wasn't present to maintain the cache memory while the system rebooted.

I would look for a PCI Express Ver 3.0 instead. It offers a much more bandwidth.
