Guys, when i want to add another RAM into the laptop, do i have to buy RAM from the same manufacturer, as the first, or it doesnt matter?

Solution

No you don't absolutely have to buy the same but it's usually a good idea. There are only a small handful of DRAM manufacturers including Samsung, Hynix, and Micron. All of these companies design and manufacture their DRAM chips in compliance with JEDEC standards so in theory they should be fully interoperable. The memory module manufacturers, such as Kingston, Mushkin, Corsair, and G.Skill buy the DRAM chips from the previously mentioned manufacturers and assemble them onto DIMMs which then go into your PC.

Most memory module manufacturers sell DIMMs in multi-channel sets that have been tested together. Minor variations in production quality may render two DIMMs incompatible under certain conditions, so matched kits minimize this risk. This tends to be a problem only at extreme levels of performance (such as highly overclocked memory) and is generally not an issue for mainstream usage.

if it makes u feel any better, i just recently rma'd a 64gig corsair set, and they sent the replacement set out on monday and i got it this morning like 32hrs later. they shipped it from the factory in tiawan. if i didn't know any better, they must have paid like 100-150 usd for the shipping alone for 3 air hops to me. corsair has a 5yr warranty and my set was like 2yrs old when i rma'd it.
but back on to topic, u have 2 options - 1 . get another set for the one already in the unit from the same maker with same specs, or 2. replace the whole memory selection with same or different brand..but make sure it's same type of ram(dimm ddr2/ddr3/ddr4 or sodimm ddr2/ddr3) to be compatible with your unit
