Same Model, Brand, voltage but different timing..

Hi guys

So I currently have the 16 (4*8) gb of Patriot Extreme DDR3 1.5 V 1600 MHz (11-11-11-28). I just bought the DDR3 Patriot Viper 16 (4*8) gb 1.5 V 1600 MHz (9-9-9-24). So with only differnet being the timing, will this be a problem. I am using this for my 64 gb ram home workstation. Also will do some overclock on my cpu, will this work?

It's hard to say, generally mixing kits is a hit or miss. You're just going to have to try it and see if it works.

It's a crapshoot, give them a try at 11-11-11-28, 1.56 and see what happens. If they play at all, then you can try tightening the timings for better performance

ok, thanks for the reply, so i think i will just return the order and another set of 16gb ram with the same frequency, timing and voltage, but different brand. Will this work?

Current set: Patriot Extreme DDR3 1.5 V 1600 MHz (11-11-11-28)
New set: AMD Radeon R5 Value Series Memory 1.5V Unbuffered RoHS 16 DDR3 1600 Timing 11-11-11-28

If thinking of mixing the new with old, it's still a crapshoot - if looking for 64GB then best is one package of 64GB
