Core Temps Software causing PC to Freeze, Need Help Deleting All Files and Recommendation For New Program

I recently downloaded the software "Core Temps" to monitor as suggested by another member on the forums but it has cause my new pc build to freeze up and force me to power down manually. It wouldn't even let me "uninstall" the file as it said it was a corrupt file. I restarted and uninstalled, and deleted all the files I could find. As a newbie, is there any recommendations on how to ensure I have "permanently deleted/uninstalled" everything from this software? I ran malwarebytes and it didn't detect any problems. I read that Core Temps has been causing some issues with other Windows 8.1 users so that might be it?

Any other recommendations for free software to check my CPU temps? If you have a recommendation I would greatly appreciate a hyperlink as I sometimes get paranoid about finding them on random websites and being unsure whether it is safe to download. Thank you!

That is a great program and a common issue.

I use it with 8.1 no issues. Just download version 1.0 RC7

any possibility you could provide me with the best link to follow for the download? And do you know what steps I should take to ensure the old version is uninstalled/deleted?

If it is uninstalled it is fine. No need to do anything else.

I see it's a .rar file, and my computer telling me I need to buy an app from the microsoft store to unlock it? Does it come in a .exe form from a different trusted site? Thank you for your help!

It's just a RAR file. Download winrar and open the file.

thanks, do you know if I have 8.1 full version would I need to download the 64 bit or 32 bit winrar? Again I am a super noob with PCs, thanks and here is a link that I found. http://www.winrar64bit.org/

Is your Windows 64 bit? IF so, that is the correct download. I'm almost positive you have 64-bit.

yes it's 64-bit windows 8.1, and you're saying this version is designed to work with that OS without making it freeze/lag like the RC6 version? I will download it later and try out the new 1.0 RC7, thanks again

Yes, the RC7 version is the newest version with the issues fixed.
