Hi guys!

So I used to use a Sapphire Radeon HD 7770 GPU and it started breaking in some way or another, so I bought a new GPU which is the VTX3D Radeon R9 280X. It recommnds on the package to run at 750W or greater, but I only have a Corsair TX650 (I didn't know this before I bought it.. Whoops).

I plugged everything in and turned on my computer, it loaded up fine and I installed the software. I opened up Arma 3 and I seem to get lower FPS then on my old card, which is not what I expected... Why is this happening?

I'm pretty bad at computer just so you know.

When I go to My Computer -> Properties it lists under system that the Processor is: AMD FX(tm) - 4170 Quad-Core Processor 4.20 GHz and that I have 8 GB of RAM.

Also I am running 64-bit operating system with Windows 7 Home Premium

Well you need to know that 280X is a powerful card and your CPU isnt really capable catching up. Just remove your old drivers, install new one (14.12 omega). I recommend you try some other games like Metro, Crysis that will show the upgrade you did. Arma is CPU based, it wont run great what ever you do.

If I wanted to upgrade my CPU would that require me buying a whole new computer or could I take out the current CPU and replace it like I did with my GPU?

Also my GPU came with a CD which installs the GPU for me.. Right? If I just run the CD and let it do it's stuff do I still need to install the Omega thing?
